SCREENWRITING
Agent: Emily Smith, The Agency
I'm a Cornwall-based screenwriter working across TV, theatre, VR, and video games. I have an undergraduate degree in English Literature and History, Joint Honours from the University of Edinburgh and a Masters in Screenwriting from the London College of Communication, UAL.
I'm currently taking part in the BBC Writersroom Cornish Voices, 2020, a screenwriting development programme offering mentoring, opportunities and networking. I recently completed a 6-month Fellowship with the CanneSeries Institute, a European initiative to discover the next generation of screenwriters and offer them an opportunity to develop original work in a writersroom, mentored by Canal+/Vivendi and SerialEyes. I was also invited to take part in the writersroom for Alien8ed, a Young Adult TV series showrun by Simon J. Ashford and funded by Screen Cornwall/BFI.
My original TV pilots have placed in numerous international competitions. My historical-fiction TV pilot, The Pirate Wife, was a Big Break Top 10 Finalist and made the shortlist for the C21 Drama Series Competition 2019. My debut TV series Keeper of the Pleas is under option with Juliet Parker and my original YA fantasy series The Book of Watchers is under option with Blonde Mamba.
I have also worked extensively in the field of immersive content writing for museums and exhibitions both in the UK and across the world. In 2019 I was selected for the London College of Communication Artist Residency where I explored immersive storytelling and produced a VR experience, Fractus. I was also selected to become a mentor for London College of Communication, 2020 and I'm an ongoing guest lecturer for the MA Virtual Reality course.
I have written across a variety of videogames, including Rosvita a platform puzzle game by Lodestone, and Donuts a mobile game by N3twork. I'm currently writing on Wytch Wood, a farming simulation game by Thunder Child Productions.
I have also had a number of short plays produced by new writing theatres across London. Plays include No Sense of an Ending performed at The Old Red Lion, Tampon Terror and Soundtrack Your Life both selected for Theatre 503 Rapid Write Response, and A Lion's Life performed at Theatre Royal Stratford East.
